Advanced nutrition tips

  • Eat a wide variety of nutritious foods from all food groups. Baxters Healthy Choice soups deliver protein, carbohydrate and fibre. Protein is fundamental for the growth and repair of your body. The carbohydrates in our soups provide a source of sustained energy. Fibre is perfect for maintaining a good digestive system.

  • Ensure that you eat at least two hours before running to help your digestive system. Your meal should be light to avoid stitches and stomach cramps.

  • Avoid dehydration as it will impair your performance. Try to drink 3 litres of water a day, and even more when you're training.

  • Spread your fluid intake out throughout the day to avoid overloading your stomach and ensure you don't start exercise in a dehydrated state. Soup can also help rehydrate you post-exercise.

  • After exercise, a higher GI meal such as Baxters Healthy Choice Chicken and Vegetable soup and a white roll will help aid the recovery of muscles.
